The Catholic Bishops’ Conference of England and Wales is in the process of setting up a new organisation called “Friends of the Holy Land”. Its primary objective is to raise awareness in our parishes and schools about the lives of the Christians in the Holy Land. This then will encourage prayer, pilgrimage and financial support for the “Living Stones”. It is being piloted in the Archdioceses of Liverpool and Birmingham. We are keeping in close contact with the Friends of the Holy Land, in order to work together with them for the mutual benefit of Christian Education, as the organisation develops throughout England and Wales. The organisation is due to be officially inaugurated by HB the Latin Patriarch in Liverpool on Sunday 15th November. In preparation for the formal inauguration, work is continuing on the new organisation's website.
